One of my first projects at Fort Collins Utilities was the Payment Assistance Fund, which provides one-time financial assistance to Fort Collins residents who have a current past due notice. Donations are solicited from Utilities customers via bill inserts, newspaper and magazine articles and ads, direct mail and social media. After implementing new marketing tactics and incorporating stories, the program saw a 15% increase in donations, earning me a peer recognition award because of the success.
